With 14 wins in 18 games, Tottenham made their best start in Primier League.
In a week where most of the talk around Mauricio Pochettino had been linking him with a move to Manchester United, his Tottenham side beat Everton 6-2 at Goodison Park to move within two points of Manchester City.
With 42 points from their 18 games, Spurs have enjoyed their best ever start to a Premier League season this term.
Just two months ago, on October 29, Tottenham looked troubled as they were plagued by injuries, had just lost to City and sat fifth in the Premier League table while in the Champions League they only picked up their first point in their third game against PSV Eindhoven.
Today, Spurs are in the knockout rounds of the Champions League and are two points behind Pep Guardiola's City, just six off leaders Liverpool.
Pochettino's side have recorded an impressive 11 wins in their last 13 games, with the only exceptions coming at the Camp Nou and in the north London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Without a single summer signing, the Argentine coach has managed to reinvent himself and his team and Spurs, without making any noise, are five points clear of Chelsea and Arsenal.

Tottenham are not in the title race. They are too inconsistent. They are doing a fantastic job but the squad lacks depth whereas Liverpool & City have the quality to mount a challenge all the way to the end. We are 4 points clear but by no means is it close to over. Long long way to go. Next up Newcastle. Should be a comfortable 3-0 win but this is the Prmeie League. You never know what can happen. We take it game by game.
Tottenham fans don't get upset by that wanker, he's words r stupid cause EPL is unpredictable

So if Tottenham don't have strength in depth they would be near the bottom of the table. So many injuries to important players throughout the campaign and Son away on international duty at the beginning of the season. Poch consistently rotating the squad and even sissoko thriving with the injuries to dembele, wanyama and dier. Kane has had plenty of long term injuries over the past couple of years and we have coped well without him one year dominating and beating Man City in the process. Obviously every team want more players but as the table suggests the squad is much stronger than most .

I think Liverpool will win it this year... City are lacking last year's charisma and Tottenham just don't have enough depth !

1 loss and 1 draw for tottenham and they will ask questions about tottenham's past , their inability to sign new players etc. similarly for liverpool, they will ask do they have what it takes to win the PL. that is how fickle the english media is

What? Why is Tottenham mentioned? Because Harry Kane said so? He claims a lot of things. Spuds are miles behind Pool and City. Stop with the delusion.

Tottenham deserve great credit for being just two points behind those who have spent Billions...it's a long way to go but for us neutrals seeing Liverpool back in the race makes it an entertaining 2nd half of the season...

Tottenham have a discipline problem. As soon as they go behind and the other team put them under pressure making it difficult for them to score, they lose their shape and become nervous and aggressive. Liverpool and Arsenal league games this season and Chelsea a couple of years are good examples. Otherwise, they are more than capable to compete.

No offence to Tottenham but they are short of players to challenge. Plus both City and Liverpool have stronger starting 11's. Liverpool will pip City to the title. Chelsea will fight Spurs for third. And United will overtake Arsenal the chokers.

This is a wonderful achievement for the players and it reflects on how good Mauricio Pochettino is, considering the fact that he didn't bring in any high profile player this season.

I really hope this time that Tottenham at least lift the EPL title, they have been impressive for about 4 years straight now I think it will be unfair if they didn't get it this time, they are so close to it let's just think of it as a Christmas gift[bell][bell][bell]
