Michel Vorm has admitted that it is 'boring' sitting on the bench at Tottenham as he fights for his place to play second fiddle to Hugo Lloris.

The 35-year-old has also revealed he will consider his options at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Vorm has always been Spurs' back-up goalkeeper since making his move from Swansea in 2014 but is now battling it out with Paulo Gazzaniga for the No 2 spot.

The Holland international has made just 47 appearances for Tottenham in his four years at the club and he is now considering the possibility of moving away from Spurs to guarantee a more prominent role.

He told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf: 'I think I have a few good years for myself. My contract expires after this season, then we'll see how it goes. I feel very good. Now I have to make sure that I stay fit. It's always boring to sit on the bench or in the stands.'

Vorm was brought on to face PSV in their Champions League encounter after Lloris saw red with 10 minutes remaining.

The former Swansea man was unable to stop the Dutch side from scoring a late equaliser as Spurs dropped crucial points in a game they seem destined to win.

Gazzaniga was given the nod for Spurs' Carabao Cup tie against West Ham last week and has impressed manager Mauricio Pochettino since his arrival at the club.

Pochettino said of Gazzaniga: 'His progression is fantastic. Of course, the credit is always for the players, but [we have] to give big credit to Toni Jimenez, the goalkeeping coach, who's helping all the keepers to improve and grow.

'We were right when we signed him one-and-a-half years ago, because we believed and we knew him from Southampton. He's still young for a keeper and has the potential to be top.'
