Tottenham have been handed a transfer boost thanks to a UEFA rule affecting their squad for the Champions League .
Spurs enjoyed a memorable run in Europe's premier club competition last term and made it all the way to the final, before being beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in Madrid.
The Londoners will aim to go one better than that next term as they bid to cement their place among the elite clubs in Europe.
Mauricio Pochettino has sought to strengthen his squad this summer and has already signed Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon for a club record fee.
More new arrivals are expected at Tottenham before the transfer window closes and one Champions League rule may give them more freedom in the market.
Last season saw Spurs face a dilemma over who to name on their 25-man 'A' list, with the club having to leave some stars out after reaching their quota of 17 foreign players.
However, with the 'B' list allowing players born on or after January 1 1997 who have been eligible to play for the club for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday, the north London club have received a boost this summer.
Football.london report that would mean defender Juan Foyth, the 21-year-old who joined Tottenham from Estudiantes in 2017, can be named on the 'B' list for the new term, granting Spurs another slot on their 'A' roster.
That should be a huge plus for Pochettino, who was only able to name Foyth on the 'A' list after Mousa Dembele joined Guangzhou R&F in January.
Tottenham have been linked with a move this summer for Giovani Lo Celso of Real Betis, who this week signed former Liverpool target Nabil Fekir from Lyon.
That in itself will have handed Spurs a boost, with Betis now said to be more open to the idea of Lo Celso leaving after signing a replacement.
