Manchester City will offer Wayne Rooney's oldest son Kai a chance to rejoin their academy now that the family have returned to England.
City snapped up Kai when he was six years old in 2016, whilst Wayne was still captain at rivals Manchester United.
It is believed City told the youngster when Rooney moved to DC from Everton in 2018 that they would look to take him back into their development fold once the family returned to England, according to The Mirror.
The United and England legend spent 18 months at DC United but is now returning to England where he will join Derby County as a player-coach.
Kai, who is highly rated by City, continued to play football overseas whilst the family lived in America.

Just like Rooney. He went to the best academy of that time Everton. And proved his worth at United. Now his son going to the best academy of this time City and will come to United to prove his worth.

Sad to hear this news..Rooney's son is going to city academy..But I don't say anything bad because united academy is run by a fool who don't know anything about football or our history..Good luck Kai..

That is not a good example and motivation to us darling it's faithfus. Our beloved legends can't all turn to back to out club. They must rescind their decision and help build the club they played for. We love them and all they have especially their kids who will be future stars.

I think this is good fatherhood from Wayne, let your children chose their own path, if he wants United he will come if not he will go to City
