What are the main tasks for each LaLiga team on deadline day?

The transfer market will be nothing but a memory in a matter of hours, but LaLiga Santander sides are still working to reinforce their squads.

Players are still expected to come and go on this deadline day, but who will they be? How much will be spent? What areas need to be strengthened?

We've looked at the situations facing each of the top flight's 20 clubs.

Real Madrid: No arrivals, but working on Mariano Diaz's departure

The champions are still attentive to the market, but only around their Operation Exit that has been going on since the end of 2019/20. Mariano Diaz is the one player who could still leave the club, but they've always been firm in insisting that nobody will arrive.

Real Betis: In search of a left wing-back and two players on the way out

Real Betis have reached the last day with most of their business done, with their only remaining target being a wing-back. Their spending powers are very limited by the cap set by LaLiga, though, and they're unlikely to see anyone come in. Francis Guerrero and Wilfrid Kaptoum could still leave the club, but they haven't had any offers made for them.

Real Sociedad: The never-ending search for a centre-back

La Real did well to land David Silva during the summer, while Diego Llorente left the club. Leandro Cabrera and Mario Hermoso have both been linked with arrivals, but the Basques haven't made offers that Espanyol nor Atletico Madrid have been happy with. Willian Jose is also unsure of his situation.

Villarreal: Six signings done, only two could leave

Juan Foyth's arrival ended their spending for the market, though they're trying to find ways out for Dani Raba and Sofian Chakla.

Barcelona: Memphis on the way, departures pending

Lyon's Memphis Depay could be landing in Catalonia this Monday, but it's thought that one of Barcelona's current forwards would have to leave to make that happen. Ousmane Dembele is the most likely, though his exit isn't easy as it would be costly, likely around 60 or 70 million euros. Jean-Clair Todibo is another who could leave and is in talks with Fulham, as could Samuel Umtiti but there aren't any offers for him. Eric Garcia appears unlikely to come in now.

Sevilla: Carlos Fernandez's future

Sevilla finalised the arrivals of Oussama Idrissi and Karim Rekik, taking their summer tally to seven. Carlos Fernandez could leave on Monday, though, with La Real interested and a potential swap deal with Willian Jose possible.

Getafe: A very busy day ahead

Jose Bordalas' side are expected to be one of the busiest. If nobody leaves, two players should arrive in Mollejo and Jonathan Silva. As many as three players could leave, though, which would allow for more singings and, in all, they could be involved in as many as nine deals.

Valencia: Kondogbia could be out

Los Che arrive at deadline day as the only club, as well as Real Madrid, not to have made a signing. They've sold a number of players and Geoffrey Kondogbia could be the next to leave. Jasper Cillessen and Denis Cheryshev have been up for sale too, but haven't had suitable offers arrive. The team need reinforcements in defence and midfield.

Cadiz: Up to 10 deadline day deals

On the final day of the window, Cadiz are looking for a left-back, a left-winger, a centre-back and a forward at the very minimum. On top of those, they're trying to move on seven players and are expecting at least 10 deals to be done.

Granada: Waiting on Rui Silva and Duarte

Granada have done well this summer and brought in a number of signings. They wanted to add to their back line, which they achieved on Monday morning by signing Nehuen Perez from Atletico Madrid. Tension surrounds them still, though, as Domingos Duarte and Rui Silva have a number of suitors.

Osasuna: An unexciting deadline day

Barring a surprise, there shouldn't be much activity at Osasuna this deadline day. They are still looking to bring in a backup left-back, but that's about it.

Atletico Madrid: Lemar out to bring Torreira in

Lucas Torreira is the player that Atletico Madrid want to sign this deadline day, but they'd need to move a player on to make that happen. The club would like that player to be Thomas Lemar, who could continue his career in the Premier League. Also, Nikola Kalinic is set to leave the club to sign for Besiktas.

Celta Vigo: The coach wants four signings, but the club want just one

Oscar Garcia wants another goalkeeper, another full-back, another central midfielder and another striker, but that doesn't add up with the club's thinking. They're only looking for a striker, and one they can sign on loan. Meanwhile, exits are being sought for Jorge Saenz, David Costas and David Junca.

Eibar: A day to complete the squad

Eibar's sporting director Fran Garagarza is hopeful of completing three singings. There's a need to sign a right-back to replace Alvaro Tejero, who has just left, and Kike Femenia could be that man. Then, the club are also looking for a fourth winger and for a fourth striker since these are key positions in Jose Luis Mendilibar's system.

Huesca: The search for a goalscorer

The newly promoted side have just announced the arrival of midfielder Idrissa Doumbia, but they're not done there. Huesca have been playing well so far this season, but haven't been scoring enough. As such, they're looking for another striker. Dani Escriche and Joaquin are set to leave the club, and maybe Kelechi Nwakali too. It could be quite a busy day at El Alcoraz.

Elche: At least four new arrivals

Elche have had a tough summer, since they only found out they were being promoted into LaLiga Santander on August 23. So, they still have around four spots to fill in their squad. They want a backup goalkeeper, an experienced centre-back, an attacking midfielder and a striker.

Alaves: There will only be departures

After Alaves brought in Jota Peleteiro, there will now only be departures from the Basque club. Rada Navarro, Burgui, Tachi and John Guidetti are among those who could leave.

Levante: Financial control rules make it difficult

For Levante to be able to sign anyone, others must leave. Hernani and Sergio Leon are two who could make way, but their high cost has warded off any suitors until now.

Athletic Club: The poor start may change things

With Athletic Club's Basque-only policy, transfer markets are usually quiet in Bilbao and the only arrival until now has been Alex Berenguer. But, the club's poor start to the season could jumpstart the directors into action. In terms of exits, backup goalkeeper Iago Herrerin is expected to finalise a departure.

Real Valladolid: The pursuit of Roque Mesa

Real Valladolid want a midfielder with an attacking mindset and Roque Mesa is the man they're targeting. They'd also like another left winger, while another striker isn't being ruled out. In terms of departures, Michel or Waldo could be allowed to leave. Javi Moyano, meanwhile, is even closer to the exit door.
