Nottingham Forest are closing in on an incredible 19th signing of the transfer window, as they 'approach a deal for Wolves centre back Willy Boly'.

It comes after Boly refused to play in his side's 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Sunday in an attempt to force a move away from the club.

The Ivory Coast international has been an important part of Wolves' rise from the Championship, but his role at club has dwindled recently. He made just 10 Premier League appearances last season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal for Boly is 'really close' to being completed, and Forest hope the deal will go through 'in the next 24 hours.'

It has already been a  stunning window of activity for Forest that has seen them land nearly 20 players as they look to make a mark on the Premier League and survive.

Steve Cooper has snapped up the likes of Jesse Lingard, Chiekhou Kouyate, Neco Williams, Morgan Gibbs-White, Taiwo Awoniyi and Wayne Hennessey.

Williams and Gibbs-White were particularly impressive in Forest's last match against Tottenham, where they played some excellent football but struggled to make in count in a 2-0 loss to Tottenham.

The newly-promoted side currently sit 14th in the league but will face a stern test when they visit Manchester City on Wednesday night.

If Boly is available by then, he may have to spend his first minutes as a Forest player dealing with Erling Haaland at the Etihad.
