Wolves have made enquiries for Japanese international winger Shoya Nakajima.

The 24-year-old has been watched by Leicester City and Southampton in recent months too and has scored five goals for his Portuguese club Portimonense this season after grabbing 10 in the last campaign.

Nakajima has a £35m buy out clause but could be prised away for less as the Portuguese club look to raise capital. He has been capped six times by Japan and scored in their 4-0 friendly win over Kyrgyzstan last month.

Wolves are looking at options after hitting a rut in the Premier League and want to freshen up their squad in January to ensure they stay in the top flight.

Wolves last win came in October and they face Chelsea tonight (Weds).

Coach Nuno Espirito Santo said: 'Of course it affects me but you have to face it.

'I'm sleeping well but not as well as before, of course. This is the reality and this is life in football.

'You have to be ready for anything and everything and accept everything the way things are.

'We have enough leaders. It's about us and we're not going to solve it individually because we shout louder than others.

'The players are conscious of the circumstances of the reality. The core of the squad is the same that made all last season and when we started fantastically at the beginning of (this) season.

'The truth is we had a fantastic moment that, now we are in a bad moment, still gives us something to hold onto.'
