All the latest Arsenal news and transfer gossip including updates on Declan Rice and Rob Holding
Here is your morning Arsenal digest on Wednesday, June 28.
Fofana transfer eyed
Arsenal are interested in signing Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana if they are unable to complete a deal for Declan Rice, according to French outlet according to L'Equipe.
The Gunners are currently locked in an intense transfer battle with Manchester City to sign Rice but it is claimed they have a contingency plan in place if the England international ends up at the Etihad Stadium. That plan is said to include potentially making a move for Fofana, who has established himself as one of Ligue 1's most consistent midfielders over the last couple of seasons.
City bid details revealed
Manchester City officially entered the race to sign West Ham United's captain on Monday night.
football.london understands their offer was £80million guaranteed with an additional £10million in add-ons, although it was still rejected by David Moyes' side. On first inspection, it doesn't seem much higher than Arsenal's most recent offer, which was £75million+£15million but football.london understands that City offered more upfront compared to the Gunners whilst also paying in fewer instalments.
Holding to Bestikas
As per The Express, Arsenal defender Rob Holding is in talks with Turkish outfit Besiktas regarding a possible loan deal during the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are said to have received an offer for Holding, who is is now discussing a move away from the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta's side are keen to sign Ajax starlet Jurrien Timber during the summer window, a move that would likely leave Holding quite far down the Spaniard's pecking order

City think they slick they trying to trick Arsenal into spending the most money while signing a bang average player. They might have fooled Man-utd into signing Maguire but best believe no way is Arsenal spending a 100 million on a single player. Even if prime Messi was a 100 million pounds and was offered to Arsenal they would still negotiate and try to bring it down to 70 mil 🤣🤣
hahaha u will spend more than 💯 mark my words u'll see

it shouldn't be a loan move for Holding but a permanent one , he (Holding ) does not fit the standard of play at Arsenal under Arteta
yeah. he MIGHT be good in another system, but with the high backline at Arsenal, he is very exposed and troubled because of his speed.
