According to German media outlet SPORT1, 17-year-old Borussia Mönchengladbach talent Wael Mohya would become the youngest player to represent the Germany national team since World War II if he makes an appearance.

Wael Mohya's first call-up to the senior national team prompted an emotional reaction from the teenager's family. "I told my parents at dinner, and of course they were very happy and were moved to tears," the 17-year-old Borussia Mönchengladbach player said in an interview with the club's media.

He was in the gym when Germany national team coach Klopp called him. "I was incredibly happy, of course. It means so much to me," he said. "I think everyone dreams of being called up to the national team one day. Now that it has actually happened, it's fantastic and makes me very proud."

Wael Mohya has been included in Germany's 24-man squad for the upcoming Nations League match against Serbia in Belgrade (November 13) and the game against the Netherlands in Berlin three days later. Only 23 players can be registered for each match. If he plays, Wael Mohya will become the youngest player for the German senior national team since World War II.
