Andy Robertson has flatly dismissed suggestions that Liverpool are missing Sadio Mane amid what has been a difficult season for the Merseyside club.
Jurgen Klopp's side have largely failed to live up to their superb 2021/22 campaign, with Wednesday night's exit from the Champions League being yet another disappointing result for the Reds this season.
Despite finishing second in the Premier League last season on a whopping 92 points, the Reds have fallen to sixth in the Premier League standings and doubts are being raised over whether they will earn a Champions League berth this season.
During the summer transfer window, Mane was one of several players to leave the club, having been such an important figure within Klopp's side during his six year tenure at Anfield, with Robertson dubbing him a 'Liverpool legend'.
Scoring a whopping 120 goals across 269 appearances, Mane was certainly one of the most valuable players for the Reds, but when asked on BBC Radio 5 Live on whether the club miss him, Robertson said: 'To be honest, no.
'Don't get me wrong, I had a fantastic relationship with Sadio in terms of me and him down the left-hand side for five years. He was a joy to play with, every game.
'I loved playing with him, we linked really well. He helped me going back, the way I helped him going forward. And yeah we linked up really well. When he left, there was probably no-one more gutted than me because of the relationship we had.'
The Senegalese forward certainly played his part in helping the club win several major honours over the last few years, winning the League Cup, FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League.
He was a huge part of their success last season too, netting a double in Liverpool's 3-2 FA Cup semi-final win against Manchester City to send the side through to the finals of the competition.
Known for his brilliant work rate and prowess in front of goal Mane was also crowned the Premier League's top scorer during the 2018/19 season, amassing 22 goals in that campaign.
Mane has continued that excellent form at Bayern, scoring 11 goals in 27 appearances, but since his departure, the Reds have struggled to find their form with Michael Owen this week claiming that they look like they have 'run out of steam.'
In his place, Liverpool have brought in some exciting stars, including Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, and Robertson believes that these players can step up to fill in for Mane.
'But we've got fantastic players that can play in their positions. We brought in Darwin [Nunez], who has been really good to start,' the left-back added.
'We've got Luis Diaz who has obviously been injured and re-injured and things like that, which is difficult. Jots [Diogo Jota] can play there, who's got injured.
'We have been a little bit unlucky with injuries, I think once we get them back fully fit then yeah.
'Look, Sadio was a wonderful player, a Liverpool legend but he wanted to go and he went to Bayern Munich and we wish him all the best.
'We need to pick up the pieces and I think we've got the players to do that.'
Liverpool were beaten by Real Madrid 6-2 on aggregate following their 2-0 loss on Wednesday night, spelling the end of their European campaign this season, with questions now arising over whether the side will qualify for the Champions League next season.
They also suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend which becomes of several disappointing results the Reds have incurred this season including a 3-1 loss to Brentford, a 3-0 loss to Brighton, and a 3-0 loss to Wolves.
The Merseyside club sit six points adrift of a Champions League berth, but face a tough run of games, Manchester City on April 1 at the Etihad Stadium, before they take on league leaders Arsenal the following week.
