An image taken by SPORT revealed the Barça president alongside his Valladolid counterpart, the former Barça and Real Madrid striker, with the shiner.
Laporta had turned up wearing glasses to cover the injury, but he later took them off to show that he had been in the wars.
According to the club, the president suffered a domestic accident.
