Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah has completed a permanent switch to the Bundesliga, signing for Erik ten Hag's Bayer Leverkusen.

The Englishman joins for a reported fee of £35m including add-ons, while the Reds are rumoured to retain a buy-back clause should Quansah excel in Germany.

Quansah started at Liverpool's academy aged five and climbed through the ranks to rack up 58 senior appearances, three goals, and Premier League and Carabao Cup winners' medals.

The youngster also played a solid role in Arne Slot's debut campaign and contributed to a title-winning season with 13 league appearances.

"I was able to get a good impression of the team and the club when we faced Leverkusen with Liverpool in the Champions League last season. A great team," Quansah said.

"It’s an exciting task and challenge for me to become part of Leverkusen’s current rise."

Quansah recently lifted the U21 European Championship with England and joins Leverkusen following the arrival of new manager and former Manchester United coach Ten Hag.
