Ahead of the Bundesliga Matchday 6 clash between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, RB Leipzig coach Demichelis held a press conference. Here are the key points from his statements.
The special significance of returning to Munich
I have said more than once that returning to Munich, returning to the Allianz Arena, holds special significance for me. I spent many wonderful times there. Anyone who knows me and my career knows this.
But those people also know that I want to win tomorrow. I am completely focused on my job and the team, and that is what matters most.
The key to tomorrow's match
Tomorrow's match will certainly not be easy. However, the last two victories have given us a lot of energy, and we have made significant progress.
Against Bayern Munich, we need desire, courage, passion, and belief. We want to maintain a compact formation and play more aggressively without the ball. We want to quickly win back possession through high pressing and then create a numerical advantage.
It's impossible for us to defend for 95 consecutive minutes; I don't like that style of play. Nor is it our football philosophy. Instead, we must actively attack and create opportunities. That is our goal.
Possible adjustments to the starting lineup
We still need to analyze today's training session and then talk to the players. At that time, we will observe their body language and sense their energy levels. Afterward, we will have one-on-one conversations. However, we may rotate in a few positions.
Aynaoui or Seiwald?
They are two different types of defensive midfielders with different personalities. Aynaoui is more of a playmaking midfielder, while Seiwald is better at defending without the ball. But we need both of them.
Seiwald could start tomorrow or against Real Madrid next week. I've spoken with him over the past few days. His professionalism is outstanding, despite not getting many chances to play recently.
Aynaoui has performed well from the start. He speaks multiple languages and has integrated into our team very smoothly.
