Jadon Sancho, Raphael Guerreiro, Thorgan Hazard and three other Borussia Dortmund stars have found themselves in hot water with the club after breaking coronavirus protocols to have their hair cut by a celebrity stylist, according to reports.
The Bundesliga led the way to kick-start football again in Europe, becoming the first major league to resume action without spectators and with strict restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However some Dortmund stars - Sancho, Guerreiro, Hazard, Manuel Akanji, Axel Witsel and Dan-Axel Zagadou, were visited by barber Winnie Nana Karkari to get fresh trims, according to Bild.
'It is pretty common that our guys must get their hair cut after all these months,' Dortmund said in a statement to the German outlet.
'But it surely is a no-go, from both sides, to not wear a mask. We will remind our players about that very, very clearly. Also: the stylist should ask himself about his behaviour, too.'
Karkari responded by stating that his mask was not worn 'for the photographs' published by Bild, and that he 'stuck to all hygiene-rules very strictly'.
The rules in Germany are that all remaining fixtures this season will be played behind closed doors, with the usual formalities of pre-match handshakes, mascots and team photographs banned.
Players will not be allowed to celebrate together as a team after scoring and those on the substitutes' bench must either wear masks or observe social distancing.
The teams will enter and exit the stadiums at different times and will travel to and from matches in a convoy of coaches. A thorough testing regime to detect Covid-19 symptoms has also been put in place to minimise risk.
Just last month Augsburg head coach Heiko Herrlich was banned from taking charge of the Bundesliga club's match against Wolsfburg after breaking lockdown rules.
The 48-year-old left the Bundesliga outfit's training camp to go shopping and buy items such as toothpaste and skin cream.
