According to German media outlet SPORT1, Borussia Dortmund's defense faces another injury setback. Ryerson has returned early from national team duty.
Borussia Dortmund's defense suffers more bad news: Following Schlotterbeck, Ryerson has also left the national team early due to injury.
Ryerson was substituted in the 16th minute of Norway's match against Wales. The full-back had previously been suspected of a concussion after the first Nations League match against Denmark but stated he had recovered for the Wales game.
"He had no problems, but he took a heavy hit in one of the first few challenges," Norway coach Ståle Solbakken said at a press conference. Norwegian media also reported a possible rib injury.
Therefore, Ryerson will return to Borussia Dortmund early for further examination. If he is sidelined, it will be another blow to Dortmund's defense. On Saturday, defensive cornerstone Schlotterbeck injured his ankle during Germany's national team training.
