According to El País, Gordon said in an interview that he would like to start a book club at Barcelona but feels disconnected from the younger generation of players.

I know it's uncommon for a footballer to be passionate about reading. I feel like my soul is much older than my actual age, like I belong to a different era. My personality is more aligned with the 90s. Nowadays, everyone is obsessed with social media, everything has become very materialistic, and romance barely exists. I'm not like that. I prefer the past."
