On October 26, Bayern Munich star Kane was awarded the 2026 Ballon d'Or, and Bayern President Herbert Hainer expressed his joy.
Herbert Hainer said: "This is a proud day for Bayern Munich. Kane can do everything, and he always keeps scoring, scoring, and scoring. Now, he has joined the ranks of Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. This speaks volumes about our club's historical heritage: Bayern and Kane have achieved and grown together, working hand in hand to reach the highest goals. We are proud that this athlete and outstanding person, who excels in every aspect, is part of the Bayern family. Some people wear the jersey, while Kane truly carries the entire team. Finally, I would also like to congratulate all those who were nominated, including our male and female players and Kompany!"

History will judge this moment harshly. In a single year, Kylian Mbappé finished as top scorer in La Liga, the Champions League and the World Cup, and became the greatest goalscorer in World Cup history along the way. Ballons d'Or come and go every year. A season like this may never be seen again. The football world will one day realise what it chose not to honour
