FC Bayern returned to winning ways, beating VfL Wolfsburg 3-1 on Saturday. A Robert Lewandowski brace and a James goal put an end to their drought of four competitive matches without a win. Niko Kovac was pleased after the final whistle: "The team did it outstandingly well. The victory is completely deserved, even by this scoreline."

Reaction to Wolfsburg v Bayern

Niko Kovac: "All credit to the team. We were under a lot of pressure. We wanted everybody to focus, work hard and stand up for the club for 90 minutes. The team did it outstandingly well. The victory is completely deserved, even by this scoreline."

Joshua Kimmich: "I think it's a fantastic sign that the club stands up for the players and protects them. It boosts our sense of togetherness. I think it was good for us to say, we won't let anybody get to us, we'll stick together and protect one another."

Koen Casteels (VfL Wolfsburg keeper): "The goals we conceded were more or less scored by ourselves. It's very difficult of course if you concede such goals against Bayern. We tried everything and bounced back well, but then we conceded the third goal."
