Following Bayern Munich's 3-1 win at Wolfsburg, Kovac refused to comment on the news conference held by the club's hierarchy on Friday.
Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac's relief was palpable after his side's four-game winless run was ended with a 3-1 Bundesliga win over Wolfsburg.
Robert Lewandowski scored twice and set up the other for James Rodriguez as the Bavarians, who had Arjen Robben sent off, claimed a much-needed triumph.
After Wout Weghorst had halved the deficit, the key third goal came from Colombian Rodriguez, a player Kovac has reportedly endured a troubled relationship with.
That foru-game streak had seen Kovac, who arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of last season, come under criticism, with Bayern's hierarchy hitting out at the "disrespectful" German press in an extraordinary news conference on Friday.
And while Kovac, whose side stay four points behind Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund who won 4-0 at Stuttgart, refused to be drawn on the comments made by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeness, he did reveal his relief at securing the points.
"I'm responsible for the sport, that means for the football," Kovac said. "I'm responsible for the team and not for anything else.
"I said before, that we only got two points out of the last four games.
"Twelve were possible and that's not our requirement. We didn't want that and that's just not our standard. The result was very important.
"The team had pressure today and the staff as well, if not the whole club.
"I can tell you something about systems or about the game, but nothing else."
Bayern's attention will now switch to a Champions League trip to AEK Athens, before they return to domestic action against Mainz next weekend.

I thought Martinez played well today He was so clumsy and lost so many balls in the build-up. It got better in the second half. But still a bad performance for me. Ah ok I am still recovering from our game so I didn't really pay full attention to Bayern.

defensive hole left by Dost Isn't Dost literally the opposite of defense? I'd say they haven't had a clinical striker since he left, which doesn't help your defense, but Naldo is a bigger loss from a defensive standpoint obviously. Yeah I just typed it up in a hurry and made a mistake. It’s offensive and defensive hole

Wolfsburg are so pathetic. They need to change the 51% rule in the BuLi. There is no way the BuLi will ever be strong if they keep having such incompetent local owners You do understand the team you are talking about is an exception to the 50+1 rule right? Wolfsburg spends money, but they spend on duds. They’ve also failed to cover the huge defensive hole left by the losses of Naldo and Dost. They just keep buying expensive but average players that don’t improve the team. that's the thing. The spend stupid money on stupid players. The same is true of Hamburg and Schalke. They need someone who doesn't spend a fortune and then put an average coach in charge and restart the same process in 2 years. At least, when foreign owners spend, they get better coaches than Wolfsburg have been doing. What's the point keeping it in local hands when those locals are dumb as fuck? The "tradional teams" could have broken Bayern's dominance if they weren't that stupid Schalke actually make fairly smart buys but they are run by idiots who always hire incompetent coaches and that's why they are a selling club. The 51% rule is a good idea but it has promoted complacency in the league. When was the last time Schalke and Wolfsburg had a talented coach who continued performing after leaving them? In my opinion, they should stop hiring German coaches because clearly, there are only a very few good ones among them. defensive hole left by Dost Isn't Dost literally the opposite of defense? Great match by Lewy, Thiago and James. Some truly magic moments today. Good first half by Gnabry. Kimmich again solid. As was Hummles with some good initiating passes. Süle a bit shaky. Martínez and Robben were quite bad. Even disregarding Robben‘s send-off. I thought Martinez played well today He was so clumsy and lost so many balls in the build-up. That should take some pressure off. Great game from Lewandowski. he was everywhere today, scoring, making pressure on defence with 10 men, assisting, he is so good at using free space Turns out he gets more space with Müller not stepping on his toes all the time. James and Thiago are capable of dropping back a bit more.

Finally, the agility and deftness was evident in the game. They defended well, attacked with purpose and earned the win. Kovac must be praised for starting James and Gnabry. Overall ,the performance deserves applause 👏👏👏👏👏👏.
