Liverpool are targeting Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong as a potential signing for next season but a deal for the Dutchman might not be a straight-forward deal
Liverpool are already starting to get organised for the summer transfer window - and it could be a busy one for the Reds. A new right-back is already at the top of the reigning Premier League champions’ list following the announcement that Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave at the end of the season.
Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong has long been linked with a move to Anfield, and those rumours have only intensified over recent days. Away from right-back, Liverpool could look to bolster elsewhere.
A centre-back, as well as another forward might be useful ahead of next season. While there could be incomings, Arne Slot could also be set to bid farewell to a few members of his current squad.
There are already some rumours circulating regarding departures. Take a look at some of the standout links over the past 24 hours:
Bayer Leverkusen managing director Fernando Carro has insisted he is clueless about Jeremie Frimpong potentially moving to Anfield. Speaking to Sport, he said: "Jeremie Frimpong has a long contract with us.
"Although he also has an exit clause, we are currently not aware of any change. The rumors also surprised me a bit when I started in the football business seven years ago.
“Gradually I’m there for a longer time, there are always different interested parties, there are different parties, there are different relationships. It’s actually very difficult to get where the rumors come from. But I have to say there are many which really surprise me."
Bologna defender Samuel Beukema has revealed he held transfer talks with Arne Slot earlier in his career amid fresh links with Liverpool. The Dutchman nearly signed the centre-back while he was with Eredivisie side Feyenoord.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Beukema said: “My uncle was even more excited than me! It was a really good conversation and he showed me things that I hadn’t thought of before.
“You could see he approached football differently to other managers and I had a really good feeling – and so did my uncle. He told me to go there but I said, ‘let’s wait’.”

One man who could leave Anfield this summer is Federico Chiesa. The Italian’s contributions have been very limited this season due to injury.
And it appears that he has an escape route should he want to leave Anfield. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are working towards a deal having already held talks with Liverpool chiefs.
Napoli have reportedly offered a loan deal with an option to buy but Liverpool want an obligation slotted into any agreement that sees Chiesa depart.

Liverpool can win the EPL next season, without spending too much on QUANTITY rather than QUALITY. This Liverpool team know how to win trophies.
