Liverpool's interest in PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare has been confirmed by Kiki Musampa.
Former Manchester City player Musampa is the brother of Sangare's agent and he revealed that Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also considering a move for the 25-year-old.
Speaking on Good Morning Eredivisie, Musampa revealed that Nottingham Forest made an approach for Sangare but didn't bid a sufficient amount.
He said: 'For those kinds of clubs, these are amounts that they can cough up. Nottingham Forest did bid, but that was not enough. You want to bring him to the club that suits him and where he will have opportunities to play.'
Sangare reportedly has a release clause of £32million in his PSV contract.
Liverpool could look to sign Sangare after appearing to miss out on Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Chelsea are set to sign Caicedo for a deal worth £115million including add-ons.
Liverpool had an offer of £111million accepted by Brighton for Caicedo but the player subsequently elected to join Chelsea.
An Ivory Coast international, Sangare started his career at Toulouse before signing for PSV in 2020.
Jurgen Klopp's side are in need of a defensive midfielder following Fabinho's departure to Al-Ittihad.
So far in this transfer window Liverpool have signed two creative players in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Have seen Sangara play for Cote d'ivoire. Very strong, imposing and deft DM. Think he should be a better fit for L'pool at this time. Will rather have him than Lavia. £60m for Lavia is simply unimaginable and does not reflect well on the club especially after all that has transpired this transfer season.
