Manchester United have got their eyes on another No 9 target to fix their goalscoring issues in time for next season, according to a report.
United are on track to log their worst goalscoring tally in a Premier League campaign ever, eclipsing Louis van Gaal’s final season in 2015-16 when they scored 49 goals.
So far this season, United have netted just 38 in 32 league games; at this rate, they are set to finish the season on 45 goals.
In light of their struggles, the Red Devils' new sporting director - Christopher Vivell - was in action to watch RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko against Wolfsburg last Friday.
There have been talks of a gentleman's agreement between Sesko and Leipzig which stipulates he will be allowed to leave for around £60million this summer, according to The Sun.
While Leipzig are unlikely to stand in Sesko's way, they may charge up to £86m for his talents, as United are far from the only potential suitors for the Slovenian.
Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with the 6ft 5in frontman, while Liverpool and Tottenham are also understood to be monitoring his situation.
A switch to the Premier League is not guaranteed, with AC Milan also tracking Sesko's development.
Sesko joined Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023. He has scored 37 goals in 82 appearances for the club, reaching double figures in both of his two league campaigns.
He also managed four goals in eight Champions League matches this term, despite Leipzig enduring a miserable European run that saw them exit the competition after the league phase.
Sesko won the German Super Cup last season, and also claimed three successive league titles with Salzburg.
He will turn 22 next month, but has already earned 41 international caps and scored 16 goals for Slovenia.
He played against England at last years Euros, as the Three Lions were held to a 0-0 draw that secured their passage through to the knockout rounds in Germany.
Alongside Sesko, Amorim has been eyeing up other options to fix his side's goalscoring issues this season.
Mail Sport revealed last week that United have made Ipswich Town's Liam Delap their No 1 striker target.
The Red Devils are ready to trigger Delap’s release clause of around £40m if Ipswich are relegated from the Premier League.
It is understood that the 22-year-old is their firm favourite ahead of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and other potential targets such as Victor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.
Mail Sport also understands that United are one of multiple Premier League sides interested in signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves this summer.
Newcastle, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur are other potential suitors.
Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee could be used as makeweights if United are unwilling to pay straight cash for any of their striker targets.
United's duo up top have managed just 14 goals between them this season, despite costing a combined fee of almost £110m.

The biggest miss for Man Utd will be not breaking the bank for Osimhen, that's the only real striker on the market, every other one that has been mentioned will likely turn out a flop....mark my word
