Roberto Mancini concedes Italy’s “main problem is not scoring goals,” but defended his massive squad rotation against Portugal.

The Azzurri continue to struggle in the Nations League, drawing 1-1 with Poland and losing 1-0 in Lisbon.
“Unfortunately, we make errors and should try to reduce them, but the lads gave all they had. We need to score goals in order to win, so we must find new solutions and do more up there,” the CT told Rai Sport.
“In the first half we had a lot more of the ball with the two strikers, as at least they can play between themselves up there, so it can be an important option.”
Mancini changed nine of the 10 outfield players from the Poland match, keeping only Jorginho, so is this really the time for experiments when Italy could get relegated from their Nations League group?
“We have to let them grow, there’s nothing else to do. When a player is young and is just starting out at this level, he’s going to run into problems, we knew that was going to happen.
“When our fitness levels improve, that will certainly be positive, but the main problem we need to resolve is not scoring goals.”

Sounds like Italy's main problem is Mancini and not Balotelli as Mancini would have everyone believe. He did the same thing to the player whilst at Man City. Not Football!!!

If any good team is in a bad form, you check if the coach is just using the players he likes most or not using the best. But in other means the Italian FF don’t looks too serious by appointing Maccini as head coach! Look from his past, he’s always been an average coach. I think Italy needs a good coach if they want to do better.

Well that makes sense... most teams lose because they don't score enough goals

Haven’t seen the match but considering the amount of talented players in the team then I would blame the coach

Italy has always been a defensive team so he has a point since they've produced Excellent defenders in the past 2 decades but not that many excellent forwards. The one I liked was Di Natale but he's retired. After him there wasn't any standout Italian striker. Immobile was supposed to be the next big thing as was Balotelli but they never really hit that form internationally.
immobile didn't get a chance to score

you first need a team that can control a ball and string two passes together i suggest you watch spain play when they played england

I think italy's problem is bigger than a coach, players are the problem.

Don’t think Mancini will restore Italy’s pride. Doubt he’s a really performance minded coach.

So, that means you need a striker before transfer window end.

What then is it Mancini? Only goals lead to victory and only victory will shift the blames far away from you... so the earlier you start scoring the better because Italy can't afford to miss any a continental football jamboree or world contest again

I don't know what is wrong with Mancini....if he will keep on playing 4-3-3 formation he will not win any match when Italy meet up with big teams he need to change the formation back to their 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 that is what Italy is good at

if scoring goals is not the problem why aren't u scoring them. every team is beating you. Italy has a squad capable of competing with the best but the coach's tactics are poor. the must improve

If scoring goals isn't a problem, then start scoring some. Everyone is beating you, nothing is right with this team.
