Bayern Munich defender Omar Richards is attracting interest from Nottingham Forest as the newly-promoted club continue to make moves in the transfer market.

Richards joined Bayern from Reading for £6.3million a year ago but the German champions are thought to be willing to let the defender, who made 17 appearances last season, leave for a fee of about £10million.

Forest have already signed goalkeeper Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United and completed permanent deals for forward Taiwo Awoniyi and defender Giulian Biancone, while they are close to finalising a deal for Mainz defender Moussa Niakhate.

But German sources say Richards is yet to be convinced by the move.

French side Lyon have also been linked with a move for the 24-year-old Richards, as have Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp.

Forest also remain in the hunt for Liverpool’s Neco Williams, while they have been following Wolves playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White since the start of the transfer window.

Forest boss Steve Cooper knows Gibbs-White well, having worked with him at both Swansea and with the England Under-17 squad.

Forest won promotion to the Premier League last season via the play-offs, defeating Huddersfield 1-0.

They kick-start life in England's top tier on August 6 away against Newcastle.
