OFFICIAL: RB Leipzig signs forward Rômulo with a long-term contract

RB Leipzig announce that they sign a contract with Rômulo.

Club Statement:

RB Leipzig strengthens its offense with Brazilian striker Rômulo. The 23-year-old is moving from Turkish first-division club Göztepe to the Red Bulls and signing a long-term contract until June 2030. In the upcoming season, he will wear the number 40.

Trained at Maringá FC in Brazil, Rômulo already made a name for himself early on as the U17 top scorer. Via Athletico Paranaense, his path led him in January 2024 to the Turkish football metropolis of Izmir and Göztepe, where he significantly contributed to the promotion to the Süper Lig with five goals and three assists.

In his debut season in the top league of Turkey, the 1.93-meter-tall attacker crowned his campaign with 17 goals and ten assists across competitions. After a year and a half in Turkey, the next step is now to Leipzig.
