Dani Olmo twice rejected Bayern Munich before joining Barcelona, his agent has revealed.
Olmo joined Barca ahead of the 2024-25 campaign and has since scored 20 goals and provided 18 assists in 96 matches for the Blaugrana.
The Spain international has won two LaLiga titles, two Supercopas de Espana and one Copa del Rey since leaving RB Leipzig, while also winning the World Cup with La Roja this summer.
Since the start of the 2024-25 season, Olmo has directly contributed to the sixth-most goals among Barca players (38), while also creating the fourth-most chances (116).
Hansi Flick's side have made a perfect start to 2026-27, with Olmo providing three assists across their eight wins in all competitions.
Bayern tried to sign Olmo twice in the past, once before he joined Barca and the other while he was still at Dinamo Zagreb, though his agent believes it all worked out in the end.
"He rejected Bayern on my initiative when he was at Dinamo. I told him: you need to take another step, and that's what happened," Marc Bara told the Inkubator podcast.
"Later, he received another offer from Bayern as a Leipzig player, and Barcelona and other clubs were also interested.
"We chose Barcelona, which perhaps wasn't the best choice, but everything worked out for him afterwards.
"He won the European Championship, the Nations League, the World Cup, and is one of the ten best players in the national team.
"His story is like a movie, and I'm happy to have been part of it."
Barca will look to continue their perfect start when they host Getafe after the international break, while they will also face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and Real Madrid in LaLiga this month.
