Tottenham spent £237 million on 39 transfers this summer

According to reports from Football.London, Tottenham spent £237 million during the summer transfer window, while outgoing transfers are expected to raise up to £213 million.

Tottenham made significant investments early in the summer, though they slowed their spending when managing departures. The North London club continues to strengthen before the window closes on 1 September. De Zerbi hopes to add more attacking quality to the squad in the coming weeks while also reducing the player count, as Tottenham has no European competition this season with a fixed schedule.

Tottenham broke their club transfer fee record twice this summer. After signing Tonali from Newcastle, they became one of only five Premier League clubs to have signed a player for more than £100 million. The club also completed the fourth-largest sale in their history and parted ways with their captain, goalkeeper, and a right-back who rose to prominence this summer.

North London club sporting director Johan Lange, CEO Vinay Venkatesham, and new director of football operations Rafi Monchi have been busy finalizing De Zerbi's transfer targets while managing player departures to balance the squad and improve the club's financial fair play position.
