According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan are set to appoint Lille manager Paulo Fonseca as their new head coach. The Portuguese manager is set to sign a two-year contract with the Rossoneri after deciding to leave the Stade Pierre Mauroy.
Fonseca is set to earn a salary of €2.5m a season whilst manager of the Milanese club, Romano reports. The former Roma head coach’s deal with the Serie A club also includes an optional extension clause which could see his contract extended to three years.
The Lille head coach has been in high demand in the managerial market with Marseille also naming the former Porto manager as their top target this summer. However, OM have been beaten in the race for Fonseca’s services and are now considering other targets to take the reigns at the Stade Vélodrome.
