Adama Traore: Barcelona? The decision doesn't depend on me

Adama Traore was the great novelty during Spain's friendly against Portugal on Wednesday night, with the Wolverhampton Wanderers making his debut for La Roja.

So impressive was his performance that some have wondered whether he would be open to returning to Barcelona, the club he left for England in 2015.

Adama also admitted that he has spoken a lot with Ansu Fati, Barcelona's exciting prodigy who is also in the Spain squad.

"We talk about everything, more general topics because I have been at the club for many years and so has he," Adama said during a press conference on Thursday.

"We met in the academy, we spoke about things to do with the team, the things that we have happened together at Barcelona and we know each other well.

"It's not my decision whether I would suit Barcelona, my mentality is to work every day to be better."

There were a few moments during Wednesday night's match where Adama displayed his pace and power, and he stated that he has never been tested in a 100-metre race.

"I have never been tested," he said.

"I'd like to, but the GPS tells me at the speed I'm going on the pitch.

"It surprises me sometimes, but it's my style of play."

Frederic Kanoute has been open in his approach to try and convince the 24-year-old to switch allegiances and play for Mali, but the winger revealed that he hasn't held talks with the former Mali striker.

"I didn't talk to him about the [Malian] national team," Adama said.

"I met him when I was a child, he is a big personality in Mali, but I did not talk to him about this issue."

Luis Enrique had Adama on the periphery of his Barcelona squad in the 2014/15 season, but it's clear that the current Spain boss is a fan of the Wolves player.

"He asked me to do my best, to do my bit to win matches," Adama revealed.

"I can only thank him for his trust, [and that of] his staff, the doctors.

"For his insistence that I come.

"If there are three opponents near me, it means that there's a free path."
