Bayer Leverkusen reach agreement with Atletico Madrid for Arias

Bayer Leverkusen have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Santiago Arias.

The Colombian full-back will continue his career in Germany after spending two seasons with Los Rojiblancos.

Arias played a backup role, first behind Juanfran and then Kieran Trippier, leaving him with few opportunities to hold down a starting spot.

Sime Vrsaljko has also reemerged as a backup option for Simeone and the Croatian's impressive displays have made Arias surplus to requirements.
