Sixteen games into the season and Thibaut Courtois has already conceded more goals at this point than in any of his previous campaigns as a professional goalkeeper.
Real Madrid's opponents have managed to beat the Belgian 21 times so far, registering the worst record of goals conceded in his career.
The second worst came in his first season with Standard Liege back in 2010/11, while his best figures in 2013/14 came with Atletico Madrid and in 2016/17 for Chelsea, having been beaten 11 times after 16 games.
Despite his struggle in his first season at Los Blancos, he is considered as one of the best players of the team and will keep his place between the goalposts against Rayo Vallecano.
In the team's last LaLiga Santander game at Huesca, he secured a clean sheet and he has already set Keylor Navas aside on the way to becoming a first XI regular.

check CSKA Moscow second goal.... he made a very fantastic save and returned earlier to d goal post to avoid a rebound goal but where were Madrid defenders to clear the bal out of their penalty box. .instead they relaxed and allowed a rebound for Moscow..

The problem is not with him cause he has made almost more saves in the same time. That simply tells you that the defence has been so bad as a whole. Let us face it, real's season hasn't kicked off yet. Injuries to Marcelo has disorganised the defence and with illalamendi they seem to be getting some balance

Madrid’s problem is with its defense, they don’t know how to run into defensive positions during counterattacks. They interfere with the goalkeeper. Navas would’ve had similar number of goals conceded if he were goalie.
