Some fantastic young talent from around the globe will again be on show in the German top flight as Bayern Munich look to defend their crown

The new Bundesliga season is just hours away and fans are excited to see their club's latest big-money signings in action.

Perhaps even more satisfying for a supporter, though, is seeing a young player flourish when given the opportunity on the biggest stage.

Jadon Sancho was the breakout star during last season's campaign but who should you be looking out for when the teams are named on the opening weekend?

Goal breaks down some of the most promising players the German top flight has to offer in 2019-20...

Ethan Ampadu | RB Leipzig   One of the stars of the Chelsea academy, Wales international Ethan Ampadu already has a handful of first-team appearances under his belt for the Blues – despite not turning 19 until September.Equally adept at either centre-back or in central midfield, he will spend the season on loan with Leipzig and look to gain valuable experience under Julian Nagelsmann.

Luan Candido | RB Leipzig   Dubbed the 'new Marcelo', Luan Candido arrives in Germany after Leipzig secured his signing from Palmeiras back in March on a five-year deal.He had previously been linked with a move to Barcelona, while Manchester City reportedly turned down the chance to sign a player who can play as either a left-back or further forward on the wing.

Alphonso Davies | Bayern Munich   With Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery now gone from the Allianz Arena and Bayern having struggled to sign replacements, the opportunity is there for Alphonso Davies to step into their shoes in the coming months.Though yet to make a start, the 18-year-old Canada international already has six Bundesliga appearances to his name and has impressed during pre-season.

Woo-yeong Jeong | Freiburg   Despite making two appearances for Bayern Munich last season, Woo-yeong Jeong has chosen to go in search of pastures new this season having signed a long-term contract at Freiburg.Comfortable on either wing, the 19-year-old will be hopeful of showing exactly why he was dubbed one of the most prodigious talents within the Bayern academy over the past two seasons.

Ahmed Kutucu | Schalke   In a world where wingers and No.10s are flooding out of academies, it is something of a throwback to see 19-year-old Ahmed Kutucu roll off the famed Schalke talent factory production line. Likened to Robert Lewandowski, he truly is epitome of an all-round striker, with his blistering pace matched by his strength and physicality with his back to goal. Throw in his superb dead-ball abilities and David Wagner could have the complete package on his hands.

Rabbi Matondo | Schalke   Rabbi Matondo made headlines last season when he opted to follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and leave Manchester City for more opportunities in Bundesliga.The 18-year-old Wales international already has seven league appearances under his belt from the second half of last season and will be keen to secure a regular starting berth by the end of the campaign.

Mateu Morey | Borussia Dortmund   One of a number of recent Barcelona academy players to have left without making a senior appearance, 19-year-old Mateu Morey is a full-back with plenty of promise.Compared in some quarters to Philipp Lahm due to his passing ability, he has the talent to impress under Lucien Favre this term.

Paulinho | Bayer Leverkusen   Burdened with the pressure of being dubbed the 'next Kaka' during his time with Vasco da Gama, Paulinho was a regular substitute for Leverkusen last term as they secured a fourth-place finish.Now 19, it is hoped he will be able to kick on and force his way into the starting line-up in 2019-20 and prove himself a worthy heir to Kai Havertz, who will likely depart come the end of the campaign.

Daishawn Redan | Hertha Berlin   After coming through the famed Ajax academy, Daishawn Redan spent the past two seasons at Chelsea but, like so many youngsters at Stamford Bridge, he wasn't afforded any first-team game time.As a result, the 18-year-old has swapped London for Berlin and will be determined to show Hertha – an indeed the Blues – exactly what he can do, whether that is as a central striker or on either flank.

Josh Sargent | Werder Bremen   Scoring with your first touch on your senior debut can lead to exaggerated expectations, but Josh Sargent has, thus far, taken everything in his stride since that headline-grabbing goal against Fortuna Dusseldorf in December.The American attacker went onto finish the campaign with 10 Bundesliga appearances to his name and, despite being a surprise omission from the United States' squad for the Gold Cup, has been widely tipped to play a more prominent role for Werder Bremen this season.
