Nico Schulz scored a late winner on his Germany debut as Joachim Low’s side edged past Peru with an entertaining 2-1 victory.
Match Events
22' GOAL! Germany 0-1 Peru (Advíncula)
Germany now is ruing those missed chances: Peru launch a counter attack and find Advincula out wide on the right. He beats Schulz, cutting in side, and then fires a perfect shot past Ter Stegen at the near post. Peru lead 1-0
25' GOAL! Germany 1-1 Peru (Brandt)
And just like that Germany equalize: Peru buckles under Germany’s pressure deep in their half. Ginter intercepts a desperate pass and sends the ball back to Kroos. Kroos somehow manages to keep control of it and passes to Brandt forward on the right. Brandt puts it away in the net.
54' Aquino's header saved
Ter Stegen makes a massive save. Cueva’s corner kick finds Aquino, whose shot Ter Stegen leaps to knock down. Ter Stegen blocks the rebound as well, and Germany clears the ball away.
58' Farfan's shot is high and wide
Now Farfan does the same thing for Peru. Gundogan dribbles mindlessly into a wall of Peruvian defenders. Peru then plays a fast counter. Advincula finds Farfan with a fantastic pass, and Farfan, one on one with Ter Stegen, lofts it harmlessly over the goal.
73' Petersen's shot inches wide
85' GOAL! Germany 2-1 Peru (Schulz)
It's a goal for the debutant, but it came as a result of a mistake by Gallese! He allowed the rather weak shot from Schulz to squirm through his hands. The Peruvian goalkeeper really should have dealt with that.
MATCH REPORT
Germany’s attackers didn’t cover themselves in glory with this performance, with Timo Werner, Marco Reus and Brandt all spurning golden opportunities. But Toni Kroos was the man who created many of those opportunities.
With Mesut Ozil no longer part of the Germany set up, Kroos has complete creative control. He’s long been an important figure for them, but now their entire team revolves around the Real Madrid midfielder.

more work needs to be done we were just lucky to me Peru played a very brilliant game they were a well structured team and handled the ball well sometime even when under pressure they did the right thing.. Am not happy with the comeback display we need to work. more and. improve ourselves Still a win is a win the player should stay motivated and confident I hope our next game would be totally different Good Luck 👊

Gotta agree it was a decent friendly based on our friendly reputations 😁😁 But I'm gonna say the same again, bring Josh in RB.. Reus was terrible tonight.. Brandt was beautiful and effective as always.. Sane needs time which we need to give him in friendlies which we didn't sadly.. Bring Phillip Max in LB.. Stegan not effective much as always(cmon bring on the hate guys you're welcome).. I hope we will top the group after beating Netherlands with more GD.. Über Alles 🇩🇪🇩🇪
