Eden Hazard single-handedly won the game for Chelsea with superb solo goal as Sarri's side beat Liverpool to reach EFL Cup fourth round.
Match Events
17' SAVE! Mignolet denies Morata's shot
CLOSE! So close to an opener for Chelsea!
What an unbelievable ball by Cesc Fabregas. He finds Morata inside the box with a 50-yard stunner... Morata takes it down and looks to lift the ball over Mignolet, but it hits the Liverpool goalkeeper!
31' NO PENALTY! Keita goes down in the box
Keita goes down in the box under a challenge from Cahill, but doesn't appeal to referee Kevin Friend!
That tells you all you need to know. It's a blatant dive from Keita, who should really be booked.
36' Another penalty not given! This time for a handball
Mane does well to get to the byline and centre, Christensen fires his clearance straight at Fabregas, and it hits his arm! He's so close to the initial clearance, however, that it would have been harsh.
38' SAVE! Caballero denies Mane's header
SAVE! Naby Keita nearly puts Liverpool ahead. He drive sin from the left flank well, gets on his right foot and unleashes an effort goalwards, but Caballero dives to his left to tip away superbly!
46' What a miss! Sturridge wastes the empty net chance
WHAT A MISS! Oh my. Daniel Sturridge. How have you missed?
51' CHANCE! Mane's shot saved
CLOSE! How is this game at 0-0? Another mix-up in the Chelsea defence as Barkley's silly header back is so close to Mane, and his poke goalwards hits Caballero unknowingly and goes wide!
58' GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Chelsea (Sturridge)
Sturridge makes up for his earlier sitter!
It's lovely from Liverpool as Mane slips in Keita. He forces Caballero into a fine save with a fierce effort from the left of the box, but it falls to Sturridge.
He has a lot to do, with the ball behind him, and his overhead kick finds the empty net! Liverpool ahead, and they just about deserve it on balance.
79' GOAL! Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea (Emerson)
We're level!! Hazard stands over a free-kick on the right, and curls in a beauty.
Barkley gets up well, his header is saved by Mignolet, but Emerson is there to bundle home!!
85' GOAL! Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea (Hazard)
What a goal from Eden Hazard. What a player. What an impact.
Hazard picks the ball up on the right flank, and has nothing but red shirts for company. He slaloms past three, making it look easy, but has so much to do at an angle, 15 yards out.
He finds the far corner with a fiercely hit shot past the grasp of Mignolet. One of the goals of the season so far, no doubt about it, and it may have given Chelsea the win here! What a game!
Match Reports
Eden Hazard came off the bench to score a wonderful winner as Chelsea battled from behind to beat Liverpool 2-1 in the EFL Cup third round, the Reds seeing their winning streak end at Anfield.
Liverpool led thanks to Daniel Sturridge's acrobatic effort, with Jurgen Klopp's men seeking to extend their victorious run at the start of 2018-19 to eight games despite resting Mohamed Salah.
Hazard was also on the bench, but Chelsea's talisman made a telling impact following his introduction to deliver the free-kick that led to Emerson Palmieri's 79th-minute equaliser before netting a stunning solo strike with five minutes left.

Hazard keeps on getting hungry for goals even if it's difficult to do so.. he makes the impossible become possible easily. He deserves and is the right Chelsea reliability so far taking the responsibilities of both the strikers, winger and midfielders ... what a Chelsea player I've seen he reminds me a lot about Didier drogba and the pest Chelsea team tgevlifted UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE [Chelsea][Chelsea][Chelsea][Chelsea][Chelsea][Chelsea]

This win was all about Sarri who did not set his team defensively like what we saw last season. He is positive with his selection and substitution and does not believe in bus parking and would play his game when ever and where ever he goes. Gives his players beliefs that they are the best and that they can do it where ever they play. Was the previous manager watching on Wednesday evening? He knows what he is doing,Sarri, and as supporters,we also have faith in him and his type of football,no wonder one Man City player predicted a stiffer challenge from Chelsea this season,he knew what he was talking about and he knew very well what kind of football Sarri plays. Yes l am not dreaming it is real.

Oh my Wooosh, Football Lives!!! I said it earlier. For FIFA to award the Best Player award to Modric, whom no doubt is a great baller, they obviously messed up of whom was in the category. Two of Chelsea's top players were in teams who beat Croatia, and done so largely because of them. Ngolo Kante, and the magical now you see him, now you don't, Hazard!! No disrespect to Modric, like I said, a great baller, but Hazard is the Best Baller representing Football in all its authenticity at present, and he's wanted by Real Madrid to make matters worse for FIFA's lack of appreciation for top quality.
