Man City's academy has continued to provide a steady source of income for the Premier League champions this summer.

They have made over £100 million from youth products in this transfer window, with Cole Palmer the most expensive after joining Chelsea for £42.5m.

As Matt Barlow has written, the Man City stamp of excellence has become one of the most prized commodities in the transfer market, especially for young players who bring the promise of future sell-on fees.

The Likes of James Trafford were able to command sizeable fees without even making an appearance for City.

As the transfer window closes, JACK GAUGHAN runs through the academy prospects that have left the Etihad this summer.

COLE PALMER, £42.5m, Chelsea

Arguably second only to Phil Foden as the most exciting talent City have produced in years. Starred in the Community Shield and Super Cup but was unable to earn enough games last season and feared his minutes would be limited with the signing of Jeremy Doku.

SHEA CHARLES, £15m, Southampton

A combative 19-year-old central midfielder who has eight caps for Northern Ireland. Pep Guardiola handed him a debut in the final game of last season’s Premier League campaign. Charles was captain of the elite development squad who won a third consecutive title last year.

TAYLOR HARWOOD-BELLIS,  Loan with a £20m obligation to buy on promotion, Southampton

Captain as England’s Under 21s lifted the European Championship over the summer, Harwood-Bellis excelled as Burnley won promotion to the Premier League under Vincent Kompany. Fulham and West Ham were among those interested but did not meet the valuation.

JAMES TRAFFORD, £19m, Burnley

There was huge surprise at the fee Burnley paid for Trafford, who had not made an appearance for City. But his performances as England won the Under 21 Euros put the keeper on the map following a successful loan at Bolton.

CARLOS BORGES, £17m, Ajax

West Ham were hoping to land the explosive winger this summer but Ajax pipped them to him. City took him from Sporting in 2015. The Portugal Under 19 international scored 29 goals and recorded 18 assists in 33 appearances for the development squad last year.

ADEDIRE MEBUDE, £1.5m, KVC Westerlo

Landed from Rangers three years ago and the 19-year-old was progressing under youth coach Brian Barry-Murphy. Other clubs were taking interest in the winger — who can play on either flank — as he registered 29 goal involvements for the oldest age group.

MORE MONEY…

ROMEO LAVIA, £9m, Chelsea

Academy product Lavia went to Southampton for more than £10m last year but City earned an additional £9m as the central midfielder sealed a switch to Stamford Bridge this month.

THE ENGLAND U21 SQUAD

Lee Carsley named 10 City academy graduates in his squad on Friday. Rico Lewis is the only youngster currently with Pep Guardiola’s squad. Josh Wilson-Esbrand is at Reims on loan, James McAtee with Sheffield United, Callum Doyle at Leicester City and Liam Delap with Hull City.

Then there is Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (Dortmund) and Sam Edozie (Southampton), who were sold in previous years.
