Roberto Carlos thrilled his new Sunday league teammates by video calling a Real Madrid legend from the pub after his goalscoring debut.
The 48-year-old has pulled on the shirt of Shrewsbury pub team Bull in the Barne United as their 'Dream Transfer' after winning a charity eBay raffle – and the Brazil legend wanted to introduce his new team to a special friend of his.
That friend was Sergio Ramos.
Despite losing the game 4-3, the Brazilian and his new side went out to celebrate the occasion in the way Brits know best – at the pub.
Then, as if the Sunday league side couldn't have been more star struck, Roberto Carlos FaceTimed his old friend from Spain.
Bull of the Barne United's Ed Spiller spoke to talkSPORT and explained that while the whole overall experience of playing with the physics-bending free-kick icon was 'amazing', chatting to Paris Saint-Germain star Ramos was 'the icing on the cake'.
“We were having a chat about the people he's played with like [Cristiano] Ronaldo, one of his best friends David Beckham” Spiller explained on Monday's talkSPORT Breakfast.
“Then I think one of the lads was like 'Can you face call anyone?', and this goes to show the type of top guy he is, because he just goes, 'Oh yeah, one minute'. He looks on his list and finds Sergio Ramos.
“We were all just watching in awe, and we think, 'Oh he's not going to answer is he?', but the next thing you know, it starts loading the screen and there he is.
“All the lads went crazy.
“Credit to Sergio, he was loving it as well, pumping his fists saying and giving it all that. It's such a class moment that, it was just the icing on the cake.”
It's fair to say Bull in the Barne United would not have expected both Roberto Carlos AND Sergio Ramos to become so well acquainted with their humble team.
