Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva claims joining Milan in 2009 was the ‘most beautiful’ moment of his career.
Silva went on to play 119 times for Milan across three seasons, winning a Scudetto before leaving for PSG with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2012 due to the Rossoneri’s financial problems at the time of their exit.
“The most beautiful moment of my career? My arrival at Milan,” the Brazilian told Globo Esporte.
“They were a team who I could only admire on TV. I loved their players, then suddenly I found myself in a dressing room with them: Nesta, Maldini, Pirlo, Seedorf, Inzaghi... in short, the whole team. Kaka, the colony of Brazilians, Pato himself…
“When I was a child I had the dream of playing in Europe in a big way, and I did that. I was so excited when I arrived at Milanello. It was Pato who showed me around, taking me around the training centre and dressing rooms to do the first medical tests.
“I kept looking around like a child. I looked at the photos of the stars and champions of the past. That day marked me as a player.
“I owe everything to Leonardo, who made a great effort at the time for me to wear the Rossonero jersey.
“I remember my first friendly match against Milan. I was trying to make myself understood with the others and Seedorf arrives.
“He understood Portuguese perfectly, given he has a Brazilian wife. I asked him what could be the best advice from a veteran like him, he replied that I should learn Italian quickly.
“Being a centre-back, he told me that I should drive the defence and give directions to the midfield, so learning Italian was crucial.”
The 34-year-old has never hid his admiration for the Diavolo, so could he follow in Kaka’s footsteps and return to San Siro?
“As long as my love for PSG lasts [then I’ll stay], I don’t know for certain,” he replied.
“For anyone it’s difficult to talk about the future. I still have a year-and-a-half left on my contract.
“I think that once the season ends, I’ll talk to the club and we’ll reach the best solution for everyone concerned.”

Thiago was in love with AC Milan before he even arrived to Europe.

AC Milan and Brazilian players have been synonymous for a much longer time than Neymar has been at PSG. Leonardo, Serginho, Dida, Pato, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Kaka, Cafu, Thiago Silva, Robinho and now Paqueta. Inter have the same history with Argentine players.

He's not completely wrong. If you ask most brazilians under 15 about it they'll probably say something like that. But for anyone who actually remembers Cleo Brandão's Playboy photoshoot, there's no doubt about which is the bigger club.

Thiago we all know that your best moment in the last decade was playing for Porto B

Because from 2000 to 2010 Milan had Leonardo, Roque Júnior, Serginho, Cafú, Dida, Kaká, Ronaldo, Pato, and Dinho at some point or another. Add to that Julio César, Maicon, Adriano, Emerson, and others, together with La Liga, Serie A was the place where the stars went.

Milan and Barcelona were definitely the most popular european teams in Brazil during the 90s and early 2000s. Milan had a lot of brazillian players in this period while Barcelona seemed to always have the best brazillian player at the time with Romario -> Ronaldo -> Rivaldo -> Ronaldinho And then Neymar, and then Douglas, wonder who will be next Malcom Their names don't start with R though dont forget Paulinho Don't forget Paulinho!

If Milan stayed Milan and PSG was never bought by big money then we would've the current PSG squad at Milan. I'm high.

Italy was arguably the best league from the late 90's to the mid 00's. You had clubs like Juve, Milan, Parma, Lazio, Inter, and Roma with 3-4 world class players in their teams at the time.

the only tears I’m seeing are from the Milan fans during the Bonucci backstab Dunno about the rest but I for sure am glad he "backstabbed" us, I'd rather have and build on the CBs we have now (Romagnoli and Caldara in particular for me, tho Caldara didn't really play yet)

Robinho for Milan too, and Maxwell for Inter.

Thiago is a choker in big games. Barca would have been knocked out just as many times in the CL with or without him Choker? This dude is the only reason that stops teams from scoring left, right and centre against Paris. VVD is his successor almost similar players. A lot of downvotes but no one is going to dispute your point, which is factual. Thiago Silva historically doesn't play that well in big games. Look at Ramos and Varane (outside of clasicos lol) and Umtiti. All big game performers.

Absolutely, unlike fans of other big clubs I fully recognize we were built by money just like PSG is now. We were buying the best players in the world all the time during our golden era under Berlusconi.
