Tottenham goalkeeper Vicario: Buffon available with valuable advice

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is delighted working with Gigi Buffon with Italy.

The former Juventus keeper is now team manager of the Azzurri squad.

Vicario grew up studying Buffon and said: “Buffon was the first I really followed and having him there is so important, as he always gives us valuable advice. I also used to go to the stadium to watch Samir Handanovic play for Udinese, paying attention to everything he did during the warm-up."

On the decision to leave Empoli for Spurs, the 27 year-old told Radio Serie A: “I felt the need for something more competitive and found a fantastic club in a top league. I will always be grateful to my life for this journey, as I started from the interregional amateur divisions, climbing step by step to reach a dream. I bring all those experiences with me and treasure them."
