FIFA has come under scrutiny for their decision to award the 2022 World Cup to Qatar. Public displays of affection could get you in trouble in the Middle Eastern country, especially if it's between people of the same sex.
Eight European teams participating in the tournament have decided to wear the rainbow armband to show their support for LGBTQIA+ people and campaign against discrimination.
Which teams will wear the rainbow armband in Qatar?
The national teams of Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Wales, England and Denmark will wear the rainbow armband even if their decision leads to bans or sanctions by FIFA.
England striker Harry Kane announced the initiative along with captains of the other European countries. Meanwhile, Spain, Portugal and Poland have refused to wear the armband and will go hand in hand with FIFA.
At the moment, this initiative needs to be approved by FIFA for the teams to avoid a fine.
However, everything indicates that they will wear the rainbow armband even if they are not allowed to do so.

what did wearing the rainbow have to do with football until the teams that refuse to wear it have to face penalties. Those countries wearing it, may they be the first countries to go out of this tournament by the grace of God
Amen
