Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier shunned private jets and first-class travel as he headed off on his no-frills winter break to Marrakesh with easyJet.
The down to earth midfielder, 26, took a £250 budget flight after being given a week's leave with the rest of his Spurs teammates.
Despite earning £60,000-a-week, the Three Lions man picked the low cost airline for his flight to Morocco much to the surprise of other passengers.
And rather than post photos of himself enjoying private jets, luxury hotels and fancy beach bars like other top flight stars, Dier shared snaps of himself and a pal appearing to slum it.
In one Instagram photo he can be seen sitting on a rug in a desert and walking through rugged wilderness in another.
He flew out on the easyJet flight just hours after starting in Spurs’ 3-2 FA Cup replay against Southampton and the North Londoners don't have another game until this Sunday's clash with Aston Villa.
One passenger on Dier’s flight said: “It was odd to see him on an easyJet plane, but also very refreshing.
“He had been playing the night before. It shows what a man of the people he is.”
Another flyer added: “He was happy to talk and we chatted about the game.
“He then wished me a good holiday.”
One other fan said: “Why isn't he in business class?”
And a third added: “Dier not first class then.”
A fourth quipped: “Is he serving the drinks.”
It is a far cry from fellow Tottenham player Harry Winks who flew upper class on an Emirates flight to the Middle East and posted a video on Instagram.
It is also a stark contrast to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of bitter rivals Arsenal who travelled to Abu Dhabi by private plane.
Aubameyang posed for a selfie and drank champagne in his luxury seat.
Liverpool’s Brazilian stars Fabinho and Roberto Firmino have both headed off to the Maldives with their wives.
Both couples posted snap in luxury hotels.
Villa pair Jack Grealish and Tyrone Mings also joined the trend posting snaps of them on an exotic beach in Dubai.
Leicester’s James Maddison shared a photo on his Instagram of him in a plush pool also in the Middle East.

That's different between white and African. We African lack of sense, we spend lavishly instead of helping the poorer, we spend and forget future. This is while Africa will remain most poverty continent in the world. The one with private jet and the one with public jet will surely get to there destination. Just few people have sense in Africa
