MANCHESTER UNITED youngster Ayden Heaven has been stretchered off during the Red Devils' clash against Leicester.

The 18-year-old was making his first Premier League start for United since joining from Arsenal in January.

United paid the Gunners "substantial compensation" to bring the teenager to Old Trafford.

Heaven looked assured in possession and impressed boss Ruben Amorim during Thursday's 4-1 win over Real Sociedad.

He was rewarded with a starting berth for the trip to Leicester on Sunday night.

But things unravelled for the wonderkid after a coming-together with Patson Daka in the first half at the King Power.

Heaven appeared to roll his ankle, with concerned teammates gesturing for medical staff.

The teenager was treated on the field before being stretchered off.

One disappointed fan wrote on X: "That is heartbreaking to see."

Another said: "Devastated for Ayden Heaven. Can't help but keep thinking if he's gonna come back the same."

While a third added: "Feel for Ayden Heaven. He's been surprisingly good since he joined. Injuries can be terrible though. Hope he recovers well."

Heaven had not been expected to break into the first team so quickly at Old Trafford.

He was signed with a view for the future but caught Amorim's eye during his Europa League cameo.

Prior to Sunday's game, Amorim said: "If he continues like that he is going to play.

"Of course he is young and he didn't play much this season, maybe only 45 minutes for the Under-21s, then a few minutes here and now a full game.

"I really like his confidence. I like his pace, I think he is good in defending the box and I think he is quite complete.

"But he has a lot of work to do in the Premier League."

Heaven now joins a list of stars in the United treatment room.

Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire were all unavailable to Amorim for Sunday's clash in the East Midlands.

Rasmus Hojlund gave United the lead, ending his long goal drought in the process.

And Alejandro Garnacho added a second for the Red Devils after the break, with Ruud van Nistelrooy's men staring at an immediate return to the Championship.
