‘Yes’: Mykailo Mudryk now makes exciting promise to Chelsea fans

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has promised to supporters that he is going to score his first goal for his new club very soon.

The 22-year-old told Zorya Londonsk that it was a relief to get off the board in terms of goal contributions with an assist, but now he is looking to find the net himself.

A rare start against Leicester City for the January signing showed exactly what he can add to the attack when he is fit and firing.

He was the perfect complement to Joao Felix and Kai Havertz up front, and would have had his first goal on the board if it wasn't for a tight VAR call.

Mudryk did get his first assist however, heading a cross back across goal for Mateo Kovacic to cleverly smash home.

The Ukraine international has now claimed that he can play in multiple positions in the frontline for Chelsea, as he looks to score his first goal in blue.

Mudryk promises to score

He said: “Some games it is better that I play 9, some games it is better if I play from side, (first assist relief?) Yes, first goal will come soon”

The international break did see Mudryk handed a rare opportunity to start in England, as he faced the Three Lions at Wembley.

However, the outing only showed how far he still has to come before he is reliable enough to become a regular starter across the city at Stamford Bridge.

Blues fans were extremely excited when the high-profile signing went their way in January, after it looked as if Arsenal were going to secure the player.

Now though, they will be hopeful that he can continue to progress this season, and be handed opportunities to impress by Graham Potter in the coming weeks.
