Real Madrid are set for their busiest summer to date as they look to address the key areas of a pitiful campaign.
The club has been in similar situations before, where they have needed to spend big in order to revamp a deflated side.
President Florentino Perez led the spending of 254 million euros in the summer of 2009 in order to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema among others, but this transfer window is likely to see that figure surpassed.
Madrid have already spent 95 million euros on Rodrygo (45 million euros) and Militao (50 million euros) but there are still plenty of signings to come.
Eden Hazard will not arrive for less than 100 million euros, which take the total up to at least 195 million euros when the Belgian arrives.
Los Blancos are working on the capture of Luka Jovic, a signing that Madrid expect to close for about 60 million euros which would take the figure to 255 million euros, a tally higher than that of 2009.
However, the spending is unlikely to end there, as Zidane is still after a left-back with the likes of Ferland Mendy who, in the best case, would arrive for 30 million euros.
Then there is Paul Pogba who Zidane has requested, who would not move for less than 140 million euros, while a backup option like Christian Eriksen would not be cheap either. All of these numbers are without taking into account a possible move for Neymar who, alone, would near the 2009 total of 254 million euros spent.
Working on sales
While talk of who is entering the Santiago Bernabeu door is rife, the club is working on a number of departures to attempt to narrow the deficit of expenditure as much as possible.
That deficit currently stands at 95 million euros, the second highest gap in the club's history since that summer in 2009 where sales of 98 million euros were amassed, leaving a loss of 155 million euros.

As an professor of economics in university, I totally understand it and as you may see it, it's not just the matter of Madrid. The whole market is emerging. Every Professional Sport is a spectacle: people pay to watch the performances of the players, and the teams are generally run as for-profit corporations. How much a given player is worth to a team is a function of his contribution to the revenues of the team from various sources: gate (ticket) revenues at venues, sale of television broadcast rights, revenues from celebrity endorsements, etc. Generally, people like winners more than losers and will more often pay to see them. Therefore, sports teams need to identify good players (or cultivate them) so that the team wins the sports tournament. If there are stand-out performers who have personal charisma or style, so much the better. The players know this, and can negotiate for more compensation based on their performance and thus their value to the team (and the owner). Besides, according to scientists' analysis, people tend to spend more on leisure and sports and entertainment when the economy is not so decent. Nowadays, the development of some countries is getting slowly and even stop, they need to purchase more for fun. And footballers, who are in the center of the football world, can't miss the chance to make a fortune. Let alone their managers.

Real madrid should forget about Neymar he is not a good future for real before we spend huge amount for him and he will not give us what we need. Vinisius JR is already there for real Madrid who is a feature realmadrid could be mistaken if they ignore Vinisius JR bring Neymar. Vinisius JR is still young has a future and come next season if realmadrid doesn't mistake and sell the boy they'll really see what Vinisius JR is going to do. Let them give the number 11 sirt to Vinisius JR and they look fo right forward like mbappe number 7 good finisher to substitute Benzema .Let Hazard be our number 10 and two good midfielders because there is important. I see the progress of real Madrid through that next season.
