Manchester United got back to winning ways on Saturday as they hammered Norwich City 4-0 at Old Trafford.
As the scoreline suggests, it was a dominant display by the home side, who enjoyed a 61 per cent share of the possession and created the bulk of the games best chances, registering an Expect Goal (xG) total of 2.74 compared to Norwich's total of just 0.34.
Both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford were on target for the Reds, with the England international netting a brace, however, it was perhaps another goal for Mason Greenwood that sparked the most glee for fans in attendance at Old Trafford.
The 18-year-old's second half strike after coming off the bench meant he can now boast nine goals across all competitions this season.
His accurate bottom corner finish took his Premier League tally to four, which is impressive considering he has played just 497 minutes of league football.
During that period, the teenager has only taken a total of 16 shots on goal.
This means that due to his goal return of four, he can boast an impressive Premier League conversion rate of 25 per cent this season.
This impressive rate of conversion can be bettered by only four Premier League strikers who have played over 490 league minutes this season - they are Jamie Vardy, Sergio Aguero, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Danny Ings.
Although this is very impressive for Greenwood, there is an obvious caveat in that his conversion rate can be impacted positively over a small sample size, such as his number of league minutes thus far.
Therefore, perhaps to mute any dispute with the above, it's best to analyse Greenwood's conversion rate across all senior competitions this season, this includes the Premier League, but also the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup.
His participation within all these competitions increases his playing sample size to a more reasonable total of 1319 minutes. In that period, Greenwood attempted 45 shots on goal. Impressively, just under 50 per cent of those efforts were on target.
Interestingly, it is worth noting that in the Premier League this season, only Vardy has an on target percentage of above 50 per cent from his shots.
Of Greenwood's 45 efforts, nine lead led directly to goals, given the United forward an overall conversion rate of 20 per cent, which is still very impressive.
In fact, in the Premier League this season, a conversion rate of 20 per cent would rank higher than Mohamed Salah, Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Jesus, Teemu Pukki, Richarlison and many others.
Overall, while critics may be quick to dismiss the clinical nature of Greenwood's goal-scoring exploits to date, evidence so far suggests he is translating his accurate shooting abilities from youth level to senior level in a seamless manner.
United fans have every right to be excited about his current standout performance levels and he could soon be considered as one of the league's most lethal finishers should his current skill set continue to develop at the rate it is at the moment.
