Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen sees their winning run coming to an end at the hands of Atletico Madrid tonight.
The Reds have won their last 18 games in all competitions, excluding the results of much-changed young sides that faced Shrewsbury and Aston Villa in the FA and Carabao Cups.
Jurgen Klopp side are back at the scene of their Champions League final triumph on June 1 - yet Owen does not believe they will achieve a repeat result despite expecting them to progress over two legs.
He told Betvictor: "Atletico Madrid vs Liverpool 1-1
"Liverpool have an almost fully fit squad available for their return to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium where they famously lifted their sixth European Cup/Champions League back in June.
Atleti have their fair share of injuries to contend with, but Diego Simeone’s side are a handful for anyone on home soil and they are unbeaten in their last 13 home Champions League knockout ties.
"The Reds were not at their best at Carrow Road on Saturday but, once again, they found a way to pick up maximum points.
"A draw wouldn’t be the worst result to take back to Anfield for the second leg and I think it will be honours even in the Spanish capital."
The clash will mark the first meeting between Jurgen Klopp and Diego Simeone in a competitive game - a battle the German tactician believes will be interesting to watch.
