A would-be streaker ran onto the pitch during a Manchester United match hoping to broadcast an important message...but no one was any the wiser because he forgot to remove his shirt.

Shaylan Meagher, from Perth, penned 'f*#k suicide' on his back and was ready to show the world his mental health message at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Wednesday night.

During the pre-season soccer friendly between Manchester United and Leeds he stood up and purposefully removed his jacket.

A video, which Mr Meagher later uploaded to Instagram, shows him jumping over the barrier to storm the pitch before a number of stewards sprinted towards him.

Mr Meagher could only run, and dodge and run some more, completely forgetting to take off his shirt.

Sadly nobody could see his message as he ran about in his underpants and black T-shirt trying to make it over the pitch barrier.

Speaking to 9News he said: 'Obviously I was in anxiety overload I forgot to take my shirt off.'
