Premier League club Arsenal have been dealt a transfer blow after Achraf Hakimi revealed that he wants to stay at Inter Milan for 'a long time'.
The 22-year-old flying full-back only made his way to San Siro in the summer of 2020 after a successful loan spell at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid.
After attracting much interest from around Europe, Inter were able to snatch his signature but due to financial troubles, clubs targeting Hakimi were put back on alert amid a potential sale at the end of this season.
When asked about his future in Italy, Hakimi told La Repubblica: 'The team that attracted me the most was Inter and I saw it as a growth project.
'I am honoured to be one of the testimonials for the new club logo. I like it, as it looks to the future, a future we can build together.
'I hope to stay at this club for a long time, I'm very happy.'
According to reports, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta have been preparing to make a 'firm offer' for the Moroccan.
Arteta is keen to sign a new right-sided defender amid reports that Hector Bellerin's future at the club is up in the air.
And according to Spanish news outlet AS, via The Sun, Arsenal are ready to make a move for the Morocco international.
The report suggests that the Serie A leaders have slapped a £43million (€50m) price tag on the 22-year-old, who joined from Madrid in a deal worth £34m last summer.
Hakimi has established himself as integral part of Antonio Conte's side, contributing six goals and six assists in 36 appearances this season.

no my freind James left as he was not in zidanes plans....Inter are in the serie A and in my opinion the premier league is overrated by the hype of English media...if inter were in the premier league I bet they would still finish above shitclub arsenal(no more European football for you,get used to reality)
