Aguero issues injury update after being ruled out of Man City fixtures

Sergio Aguero is motivated to return to action for Manchester City as soon as possible, after injury has ruled him out of action for 'a few games'.

Aguero was injured in the 2-1 win over Chelsea at the weekend, and manager Pep Guardiola subsequently confirmed the striker would miss around two weeks of fixtures with a thigh injury.

That means Aguero is highly likely to miss the Manchester derby at the Etihad on December 7, as well as two tricky Premier League away trips to Newcastle and Burnley. The Argentine was replaced by Gabriel Jesus for the Champions League draw with Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.

Following that game, which secured City's passage into the knockout stages of the Champions League as group winners, Aguero took to Twitter to thank fans for their support and provide an update on the timescale of his return.

He posted: "It's time for me to work to recover from my injury, and your support always makes it so much the better. Thank you all for the motivation.

"And congratulations, team! Towards the Last 16 of the Champion's, and leading our group."
