It would be hard to argue against Sergio Aguero being the most important player in the history of Manchester City.
The Argentine recently renewed his contract at the club until 2021, meaning he will end the deal having played at the club for ten seasons.
When he does depart, he will do so as the club's record goalscorer, a crown he already holds with his 205 goals.
More than just individual brilliance, he has helped his side to eight titles, including three Premier League wins.
Above all, Aguero will leave the club having been the first of their big-money overseas imports to leave a real legacy at the Etihad Stadium.
Against Cardiff City on Saturday Aguero scored his fourth goal of the season, his 147th in the Premier League and made his way into the top ten scorers in the history of the league.
Now level with Frank Lampard, he also celebrated his 300th Man City appearance, during which time he has also provided 50 assists.
All of that and he is only 30.
The Citizens destroyed Cardiff, bagging five as they bounced back from their midweek defeat to Lyon in the Champions League.
Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan also netted while Riyad Mahrez scored his first City double.
Pep Guardiola's side were close to perfect.
They are unbeaten in their last 11 games and they have scored 19 times in their last six, averaging over three goals per game.

It's pretty much the only way to do it for what is probably one of the most recognisable goals in recent history

His best solo effort for me was probably the one at United in 2013, the one at Watford for his hat-trick this season, or the impossible angle one against Reina at home to Liverpool in 2013(?).

Did anyone actually say that though? Don't remember that at all. He was basically world class destined before he joined. Real were interested at the time as well as every other elite club in the world

Well i do, not everyone said it but i remember a lot of people doubting him because of his small stature, not because of his talent.

Also, he's quite short so people found excuses to doubt him, but i never did. I always knew he would succeed in the PL and that it certainly wasn't a more difficult league than La Liga.

I remember when he first arrived at City, a lot of PL fans were saying this dude's too small and frail and will never make it in the league lmao
