Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has turned his attention from the pitch to the classroom as he hosts Spanish lessons for children as a part of the BBC's new homeschooling programme.
With the coronavirus lockdown forcing the closure of schools across the country, parents have been lumbered with the responsibility of teaching their children from home.
The Premier League star will join this nationwide effort to educate children at home by putting his bilingual skills to use in BBC's Bitesize Daily programme.
The Argentinian, who has lived in the UK for nine years after transferring from Atletico Madrid for £38million in 2011, will be teaching children to count in Spanish.
Children in years one and two will be taught how to count to 12 in Spanish, while children in years three and four will be taught Spanish as a broader language, focusing primarily on talking about family and pets.
Though his speciality might be goalscoring, the father of one saying he is 'honoured' to help educate the children during such uncertain times.
'It's a tough time for children at the moment, and also for parents trying to keep them focused on their education from home,' he said.
'The BBC are doing brilliant work to help, and I'm honoured to be able to play a part.'
You can catch Aguero's lessons online on Thursday, June 11, just six days before City take on Arsenal in their first game back after the coronavirus break.
Aguero, who has an 11-year-old son, Benjamin, is not the only celebrity to join BBC's Bitesize Daily programme as Eastenders star Danny Dyer is teaching history, Professor Brian Cox is covering science, and Sir David Attenborough is detailing all things wildlife.
The online lessons will not only support the education of pupils but also offer some relief to parents who may be finding it hard to further their children's education at home.
The director of BBC children's services Alice Webb said: 'We're proud that the BBC can bring together so many people to offer such a wide-ranging package of support to help children and parents right across the UK at such a challenging time.
'We said the BBC would be there for people through this crisis, and we meant it. It's vital that every child is able to continue learning – and the lessons we're putting on will make sure they have fun at the same time.'
